Merge on to Highway 2 North / Queen Elizabeth II Highway North via the ramp to Edmonton. Continue travelling for about 17 km to the Whitemud Drive West ramp. After about 10 km, take the 170 Street North exit. Turn left at 90th Avenue.

From Shaw Conference Centre, 9797 Jasper Avenue:

Travel southwest on Jasper Avenue following the road to where it becomes 124 Street Northwest. Turn left at 102 Avenue Northwest and continue driving on to Stony Plain Road Northwest. Turn left at 170 Street South. Exit at 90th Avenue.

 By registering for the IGNITE! School Age Care Conference, please be aware that SACDA intends to photograph, audio record, and/or visually record some of our sessions and other activities. SACDA may make use of such photographs and recordings for purposes including creating, distributing, and transmitting copies of them, and/or promotional or advertising uses, without the restriction of media. If you do not wish to be photographed, audio recorded, and/or audiovisually recorded, please feel free to excuse yourself from any potential photographs and recordings during the conference.

All registrants under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian sign the registration form on his/her behalf before the registration form can be processed. Also, by registering for the IGNITE! School Age Care Conference you release SACDA, sponsors, and service providers from any and all liabilities incurred before, during, and after your participation at the convention.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FUNDING

Professional Development Funding

Starting September 1, 2021, under the bilateral agreement with the federal government, Children’s Services is expanding access to PD funding to all certified staff working in licensed child care programs, including ECEs working in OSC, preschool programs, and day home providers working in licensed family day home agencies.

Professional Development Funding Form

This funding is provided to licensed child care programs to assist with the costs of approved post-secondary tuition and textbooks, as well as approved conferences or workshops for their eligible educators certified as Level 1, 2, or 3 Early Childhood Educator.

To receive professional development funding, you need to submit a Professional Development Funding Request form (PDF, 121 KB).

Release Time Funding

Release time will also now be available to ECEs so they can be paid while studying, completing post-secondary coursework and attending approved workshops.

Release time will be paid as follows:
• ECEs attending approved post-secondary coursework will be eligible to receive a flat rate of $800 per course, to a maximum of two courses per fiscal year.
• ECEs attending approved workshops are eligible to receive $17.50 per hour (up to 45 hours per fiscal year).
• Programs that access this grant for their employed staff will receive an additional 7.66 per cent of the grant amount to help offset payroll expenditures associated with administering this funding ($60 per course payment and $1.33 per hour for staff attending workshops).
